Hemorrhoids Diet | Piles Diet

Recommended diet to help prevent hemorrhoids from developing is first of all a diet that helps you to keep a soft stool.

  • Fiber rich diet is rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains (or fiber supplement). Fiber adds bulk and moisture to the stool, and it speeds movement through the intestinal tract. Fiber rich diet can prevent constipation and thus also hemorrhoids from developing.

  • Wheatgrass juice aids in proper digestion (according to Dr. Ann, Dr. Bernard Jensen and G.P. Earp-Thomas of Bloomfield Laboratories). Furthermore, green juices provide easy assimilation of nutrients especially in cases of poor digestion or immuno-suppression.

Fluids

  • Drink lots of fluids (not alcohol) at least 8 glass each day. Drinking results in softer, bulkier stools. A softer stool makes emptying the bowels easier and lessens the pressure on hemorrhoids caused by straining. Eliminating straining also helps prevent the hemorrhoids from protruding.

Avoid

  • Avoid highly refined foods like white rice, white bread, pastries, cakes, pies.

  • Alcohol should also be avoided as it can contribute to small, dry stools.

  • Avoid acid forming foods such as sugar, animal protein, dairy, and caffeine-containing food and beverages.
